Dr. Ankit Bindra has a diverse education and began his journey in medicine on the beautiful island of Aruba. After studying basic sciences, he underwent most of his clinical training in Atlanta, Georgia and completed his final clinical rotations at Vancouver General Hospital, and Surrey Memorial Hospital, in British Columbia.
His medical degree was obtained from Aureus University School of Medicine. Before studying medicine, Dr. Ankit Bindra worked as a tutor for ESL students and volunteered as a boxing coach. He developed strong non-verbal communication skills through tutoring, as he taught science to children who struggled with English. Subtle changes in body language and facial expression allowed him to gauge his students and their level of understanding. As a coach, he observed how individuals responded differently to various forms of motivation and learned how to incorporate motivational techniques to assist patients. He joined the Elumind team as an IMG, under the supervision of Dr. Edalati, in late 2022. He wishes to provide his clients with compassion and non-judgemental care, as all human beings deserve.
His goal with every client is to focus on the root or cause of their condition, as opposed to focusing on and treating just their symptoms. He has observed significant improvements in the quality of life of our clients and is excited to make use of the various treatment modalities available at Elumind, to aid his own clients. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ankit Bindra has interests and experience as an amateur boxer and music producer/audio engineer. He finds that his hobby of music complements the profession of medicine nicely. Medicine requires critical thinking and quick analysis, while music production is based on feeling and can not be enhanced by logic. The combination of music and medicine provides balance to his life.
