What is Group Therapy?
Group Therapy is an effective form of psychotherapy through which participants benefit from being part of a group of individuals that share common challenges and experiences. Under the leadership of trained and compassionate therapists, you will work on improving your life, receive helpful feedback from other members and recognize that you are not alone in your journey. Group Therapy can promote change and growth and equip you with developing more effective coping methods through observing others and learning from their experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
In a typical Group Therapy setting, a therapist will sit down with you and a number of other group members. Each member will go around and discuss their own problems and difficulties. This will make you feel at ease with discussing the issues that are causing you anxiety and worry which will then help you work towards improving and maintaining a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. We also run mindfulness-based meditation groups and social skills groups. Most group therapy sessions run once a week for 8-12 weeks.
